NDT Metrics module

NDE metrics worth talking about in the QA meeting

Acceptance rate by method, reject causes by category, and a clean view of repair backlog by welder and inspector. Not a chart for the chart’s sake.

  • Acceptance rate by method (RT, UT, PT, MT)
  • Reject causes broken out by category
  • Repair backlog by welder and inspector
  • Period filters (Q1, Q2, last 90 days, custom)

Tell the QA story in one screen

The donut shows your acceptance mix; the bar chart shows where rejects are coming from. Together they answer the two questions every QA review opens with — without you assembling a deck.

Backlog you can act on

Repair backlog is broken out by welder and inspector so you can see where the bottleneck is. Click through to the open welds and assign the next pass.

What you get

Per-method acceptance

Compare RT, UT, PT, and MT acceptance side by side, weighted by weld inch diameter.

Root-cause buckets

Reject causes (porosity, crack, slag, LOF, undercut, misalign) categorized for the weekly review.

Inspector view

Spot inspector-specific patterns early so calibration sessions happen before disputes.

Frequently asked questions

Can I set a target reject rate?

Yes. Targets per method are configurable per project; deviations highlight on the dashboard so you see them at a glance.

Where do the categories come from?

Reject categories follow the standard piping NDE taxonomy (porosity, crack, slag inclusion, lack of fusion, undercut, misalignment, etc.). Custom categories are supported per project.

Does this filter to a specific date range?

Yes. The period selector supports Q1 / Q2 / last 90 days as well as a custom range, and the dashboard recalculates accordingly.
