Fabrication tracking

Pipe fabrication tracking, from cut list to ship

Track every spool, every weld, and every NDE result from issue-for-construction through shipping — without the morning spreadsheet rebuild. Piping.Tools rolls fabrication progress up by drawing, area, system, and package, in real time.

  • Live WDI %, welds complete, and NDE coverage by area or system
  • Spool progress through cut → fit → weld → NDE → paint → ship
  • Every weld auto-numbered to its source isometric drawing
  • Welder qualifications and WPS attached to each weld
  • Throughput trend over the last 7 / 14 / 30 days

A single tracking record per spool, per weld

Piping.Tools tracks fabrication at the level you actually work at: each spool has a status, each weld has a record, each NDE result is linked to the weld it covers. Nothing lives only in a spreadsheet, and nothing has to be reconciled at the end of the week.

Roll-ups that match the way the project is reported

The same record set rolls up by drawing, area, system, and package — so engineering, fabrication, and QA all read the same number for "% complete" and "open NDE", because it is computed from the same data.

FAQs

How does Piping.Tools track pipe fabrication?
Each spool and each weld has its own record in the workspace. Status updates (cut, fit, welded, NDE accepted, painted, shipped) are recorded against those records, and the dashboards roll the same data up by drawing, area, system, and package — so the % complete you see in the report is computed live from the work that has actually been logged.
Do I have to enter fabrication progress twice?
No. The weld log, NDT reports, and shipping/loads modules feed the progress dashboard directly. Filing an NDE report or marking a load as shipped is the same act as updating the project KPIs.
What KPIs does the fabrication-tracking dashboard show?
WDI % (weld inch diameter complete vs planned), welds complete, open NDE, NDE accept rate, throughput trend, and schedule status — by drawing, area, system, or package.
Can I see fabrication tracking by spool?
Yes. Spools are first-class records and can be filtered by status (cut / fit / welded / NDE / painted / shipped), area, system, or load.
